JEWEL OF THE WORLD 2018 PRESS PRESENTATION

Twelve beautiful and equally talented candidates of the inaugural edition of Jewel of the World 2018 were presented to the members of the press last May 20 at the Icon Hotel in Timog, Quezon City.
Misses Philippines and Myanmar were voted as Darling of the Press while Thailand, South Africa and Azerbaijan were given a special award by Mr. Richard Hinola, Best Magazine publisher.
Inspired by the May 21st declaration of the UN General Assembly on the World Day for Cultural Diversity, a new Philippine based international beauty pageant unfolds, Jewel of the World.
Another brainchild of beauty queen maker, events and pageant director John Dela Vega, Jewel of the World os a celebration of the multi-cultural world and heritage of the participating countries. Unlike most of the pageants which push for the empowerment of women and protection of children, promotion of tourism and many other charitable causes JOTW celebrates beauty in cultural diversity and highlights the need for acceptance and recognition, respect and mutual understanding for cultural diversity in order to bridge the gap between notions and people by breaking down the wall of cultural differences.
Delegates from Korea, Malaysia, India, Nepal, Thailand, Myanmar, South Africa, Cote D’ Ivoire, France, Japan, Azerbajam and the Philippines are currently gathered here in the country for the inaugural edition of the pageant. The Philippines is represented by Jewel of the Philippines 2017 Achelle Medrano.Since their arrival last May 16, delegates have been kept busy with numerous activities and events such as cultural and historical tour of Manila where they visited Intramuros, Luneta and National Museum, Welcome dinner, sponsor’s visit, the cultural and talent competition helf at Hiyas Pavillion in Malolos, Bulacan hosted by Provincial Fovrnment of Bulacan. They will also have a swimwear shoot in Subic, on May 24 they will be featured sagalas at the Grand Sagalahan in Bocaue hosted by Mayor Joni Villanueva. Coronation Night is on May 26 at Dance Vision Arena, San Juan City at 7pm.The pageant is being supported by the Provincial Government of Bulacan, Orabella Gold, Mileage Asia, Everwin, Municipality of Bocaue, Montage Skin Science and Aesthetics, Elm’s Kapihan and bar, Sands Spa, DR Swim, Liza Querubin Hair and Make-up team, Madison 101 Hotel and Tower, Gems Muti-Media Events and Productions, Fashion Designers Antonio Antonio, Cathy Capistrano and Jhune Angeles.
