The Talent and National Costume competition of the inaugural edition of Jewel of the World 2018 was held last May 19 at the jampacked Hiyas Pavillion in Malolos, Bulacan during the Cultural Night of the pageant
All the twelve official candidates braved to show their skills (sketching, singing, ethnic and modern dancing) during the talent portion and showcased different colors and designs at the cultural costume parade. The event was hosted by beauty queen Ms. Sara Asido and Edmund Santiago. Special guest Hon. Governor Wilhelmino Sy-Alvarado gave an inspirational message to all the international delegates. Mr. John Dela Vega, CEO and head of Jewel of the World organization was ecstatic and happy with the outcome of the show. He leads the panel of judges together with Jesslyn Santos Miss United Continents 2016 and Dr. Eli Dela Cruz Tourism head of Bulacan Province.
Miss Myanmar Chit Myat Noe Htike took home the Best in Talent award with her very intricate interpretation of an ethnic puppet dance while Ji Young Park of Korea bagged the Best in Cultural Costume. Miss Cote D’ Ivoire Laurra Reine Philippe Kofi was named Jewel of the World – Bulacan.
The 12 international delegates will face the members of the media on May 20 at the Press presentation at the Icon Hotel in Timog, Qauezon City.
The official candidates are Kristina Zamir – Azerbaijan, Cote D’ Ivoire – Laura Reine Philippe Kofi, France – Claire Boucau, India – Manpreet Kaur Sekhon, Japan – Mimi Kojima, Korea Ji Young Park, Malaysia 0 Ashley Tang Ci En, Myanmar – Chit Myat Noe Htike, Nepal – Sapana Bhetwal, Philippines – Achelle Joy Medrano, South Africa –Neena Maacaire Besuidenhout, Thailand – Raffha Khong Ngam.
