NELSON MENDOZA’S BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

Well known entrepreneur and philanthropist Anthony Nelson Geralde Mendoza had his diamond birthday celebration last May 13 at the Manila Polo Club, Forbes Park, Makati City. The occasion was attended by his family, close friends and business associates. Born 75 summers ago in Misamis City, Nelson came from a poor family, his parents and sibling struggled during the world war, but despite of all the odds in life, Nelson was a believer and work diligently and eventually became successful in his chosen endeavor.
Aside from being a businessman, Papa Nels as he fondly called by his peers was once a seminarian (He went to the seminary of Atone in San Carlos but decided to left the vocation after a decade). He is also an educator, he handled Theology classes in San Beda College where he also hold the position of a College Dean.
He heads Bless Company, a firm that supports aspiring entrepreneurs. Bless Micro-Finance operates in rural areas and aims to reach a manpower of over a thousand this year. Nelson is also the co-owners of Bless Amare chain of restaurants together with couple and friends for life Rico and Jessie Maloles. They put-up Bless Okiniiri and Bless Las Paellas a Japanese and Spanish inspired restaurants . He explained that fine dining and exquisite dishes need not to be expensive, probably that is the reason why Bless Okiniiri and Bless Las Paellas are fast becoming popular in the gastronomic world. They have several branches in the metroplis and soon to open in Davao City and SM Mall of Asia.
Guests at his birthday party enjoyed the sumptuous buffet dinner provided by the chefs of the Manila Polo Club. Entertainment numbers were provided by Malaysian singer Myn Yasmin, tenor Jonathan Badon, Quezon City Dance Sport Association, PGT finalist Julius Jun Obrero and Rhea Marquez.
The special occasion was highlighted by a grand fashion show featuring the creations of Rye Baile, Peter Rian Casidsid and Marlo Reyes Javier executed by top models in the country. Beauty queen and business woman Jessie Maloles made the finale catwalk wearing an al- gold gown that wowed the guests. Veteran events and fashion director Ogee Atos directs the entire show.
Nelson was blessed with four children (Man, Bea, Catherine and Rianna) and considered a savior and inspiration to others. Mr. Rico Maloles, one of Nelson’s confidante says that with his (Nelson) open heart and unconditional love, he is certainly a member of their family. He is full of theories, beliefs and vision that are interesting, practical and impressive. He is absolutely animated, but full of humility and exuberance.
