MEET JENNIFER HELEN WEIGEL – FIRST WOMAN AND PINAY TO WIN GLOBE CLASSIC – WOMAN OF THE YEAR TITLE

Fifty-two year old business woman from Banilad, Cebu was crowned Globe Classic – Woman of the Year 2017, an international pageant for married women held at Westin Lake Side Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA last June 24.
“I didn’t see its coming” says Jennifer Helen Weigel referring to her winning the title of Woman of the Year because most of her competitors are professionals, has Barbie look-alike faces and has better body proportions. “ And I am the shortest among the candidates but I came to the pageant prepared especially for the dreaded interview and question and answer portion. I am very thankful that I have a good friend Jonas Borces as my companion who always helped me during the preliminary events of the pageant”, she adds. Jennifer delivered awesome answers to the judges questions that wowed the audience and her more than one hundred thousand followers in social media.
Weigel is not a newbie in the international pageant arena. Prior to Mrs. Globe Classic she was crowned Mrs. Asia International – Metropolitan way back 2015 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. “Winning an international crown for the second time is much sweeter because my recent triumph was much difficult, its broader in the sense that I competed with more than 40 delegates from all over the world and not just from one continent, and it proved that winning my first international crown was not just a fluke”, she enthused.
Carla Morena Cabrera Quimpo, the national director of Mrs. Philippines - Globe was very ecstatic and proud of Weigel’s achievement of bringing home the international title to the country and she promised to continue the legacy that she started in searching for the most deserving married women and mothers to represent the country to the international arena. “Jennifer’s triumph has indeed strengthened the country’s status as beauty pageant power house.”, she says.
Aside from the title, Jennifer also won the Best in National Costume award created for her by Cebu based fashion designer Philip Tampus.
As a successful businesswoman, Jennifer also provided jobs to her kababayans in Cebu through her construction company and recruitment agency.
