Fitness trainer, model and college professor were among the twenty-three official candidates for the 6th edition of Misters of Filipinas 2018, one of the premier pageant for male in the Philippines. After a month of online screening, casting calls and regional competitions from various franchises in the country and Filipino Communities abroad, Prime Events Productions Philippines Foundation, Inc. (PEPPS)formally presented this year’s finest Misters to the members of the media last September 17 at The Plaza of Resorts World Manila in Pasay City. Arnel Colis of Pampanga was voted as Darling of the Press.
“It was a long search for the official candidates, but I am confident that we have a good batch this year”, mentioned PEPPS President Carlo Moris Galang.
Misters of Filipinas 2018 shall be taking a different direction this year- different from what was officially announced during the launch early this year. For one, the organization decided to dissolve the partnership initially penned between PEPPS and Artic Sky Entertainment. “It was a mutual decision and that we realized that there were differences in terms of our over-all vision,” Galang further mentioned. “No bridges was burned, and it was amicable. We wish them success in all their endeavors”.
Galang further commented regarding the resignation of Ion Perez as Mister Universe Tourism 2018. “PEPPS has nothing to do with his resignation nor do we want to comment from any of the allegations that have been posted, but as his national organization, of course we support his decision and we will always stand by him. Even if his decision is soley between him and the international organization”, Galang explains.
The candidates will not just be candidates who will strut in swimwear and formal wear. What is important, is how they can become positive role models to their communities and the country. The 6th edition of the pageant promises that the candidates will really have something worth enjoying and remembering. In a short amount of time, they will be exposed to various activities that will develop skills on them.
Misters of Filipinas will have its finals on October 3 at the iconic Music Museum in Greenhills, San Juan City. The candidates will also fly to Davao which will host the pre-pageant competitions before flying back to Manila for the finals.
