MR. AND MISS TANGLAWAN 2018 KICKS-OFF

Fifteen pairs of energetic and competitive young men and women were presented to the members of the press as this year’s official candidates for the 3rd annual Mr. and Ms. Tanglawan 2018.
The event was held at the Activity Center of Starmall in San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan last September 1, 2018 hosted by Mr. Onin Mas. The press presentation coincides with the week-long celebration of the city of the third Tanglawan Festival from September 1-10 and the 18th year city hood anniversary of San Jose del Monte based on RA 9750.
The festival aims to promote San Jose Del Monte as “The Rising City” of the Philippines and show its potential of becoming the premiere city of Bulacan and the first Highly Urbanized City of the province. The festival unites more than half a million population of the city that started in year 2016 under the administration of Mayor Arthur b. Robes and Congresswoman Florida P. Robes as they implemented infrastructure developments and launched social services aligned to their aspiration of becoming “The Rising City”. Last year, the festival claimed the Guinness World Records’ largest Lantern Parade using recycled tin cans as 14,386 San Josenos joined that environment-friendly activity. The Manila Times recognized the City of San Jose Del Monte as the Most Environment-Friendly City in the Philippines as it commemorates the 100 years of independence from the Municipality of Sta. Maria and became a separate Municipality of San Jose Del Monte.
Late in the afternoon, the thirty candidates show-off their artistic sides during the Talent Competition. From singing, dancing,(ethic, modern and interpretative) to monologue they wowed the crowd as well as the members of the judges. Pre-judging competition is scheduled on September 2 heading to the grand coronation on September 6, 2018. Mr. and Miss Tanglawan 2018 is being handled by MegaStar Production headed by their artistic head Ovette Ricalde-The Mother of All Pageants.
After the formal introductions and Q and A with the candidates, Jairo Navarro Nilo and Kim Bernadeth Antonion were chosen as Darlings of the Press by the media who attended the event.
