









KING AND QUEEN OF HUMANITY OF ROTARY INTERNATIONAL DISTRICT 3800
Rotarians of District 3800 gathered once more during the talent competition of King and Queen of Humanity 2018 at Xanland Place, Katipunan, Quezon City last January 13. Some of the contestants gamely showed their hidden talent from dancing, singing to public speaking.
The event is a brainchild of Lady Governor Atty.Nancy D. Quimpo with the Great Inspiring Spouse and chaired by GP Hemilyn Escudero Tamayo former beauty queen and Mutya Ng Pilipinas, Inc. president who head the Rotary of Mandaluyong Chapter. Hemilyn together with Ms. Joy Galzote spearheaded the fund raising project. Atty. Saldy Quimpo is the Governor of the Rotary Club.
The pageant aims to raise funds for their chosen charity institutions such as Ladies in Pink Society (L.I.P.S) and Haven for Women in Caloocan, a shelter for battered women (mentally and physically). The group provides livelihood programs, legal services and professional counseling. Another beneficiary is the Great Love for Little Hearts, a noble undertaking to finance the operation of less fortunate children at the Heart Center.
The pageant will culminate on February 17 as the main event of the Great Charity Ball at the historic Manila Hotel. Marvin Agustin of Marvin Creates will handle the over-all production.
Any member of the Rotary Club and their spouses can join the competition, there is no age limit, involved in at least 2 charity projects, of good moral character and known as someone who puts into practice Rotary’s Motto of “Service Above Self”.
The criteria of judging are the following – 60% fund raised (since is is a fund raising projects for a cause), 10% intelligence, 10% poise, projection and X factor and 10% committee vote.
Rotary International District 3800 has an estimated members of 2,500 and composed of 8 Zones with Clubs in the country located in the following area: Valenzuela, Malabon, Caloocan, Navotas, Marikina, Rizal, Mandaluyong and San Juan
