“PAGLIPAY” GRABBED 11 NOMINATIONS AT THE 40TH GAWAD URIAN
“Paglipay”, a film by Zig Madamba Dulay ganered 11 nominations at the 40th Gawad Urian including best picture, director, actor, supporting actress, screenplay, cinematography, editing, sound, production design and musical score.
The film by Zid Madamba Dulay tells the story of young aeta (Atan) who works to raise the amount needed to fulfill the dowry for an arrange marriage. He goes to Banwa to sell their products and there he find a job as a guide to student (Rain)who is doing a thesis on arrange marriage within the aetas community. Their being together most of the time resulted into unexpected turn of event as Atan fell in love with Rain.
The movie also showcase the the natural scenery of the Philippines and its historic culture. An entry to the inaugural Tofarm Film Festival and bagged six major awards including best Picture, best Director and Best Actor (tied).
The award winning movie will be part of the up coming Pista Ng Pelikulang Pilipino from August 16 to 22.
