PAUWI NA WINS BIG AT SHANGHAI FILMFEST
“Pauwi Na” a film by Paolo Villanueva won the top prize awards at the 20th Shangha International Film Festival. The film took home the Golden Goblet Award the highest recognition or equivalent to best film.
Pauwi competed with different entries worldwide as far as Iran, Lithuiania, Romania, Poland, Italy, Macedonia, Russia, United States, India and Bangladesh
The movie was based on a true story about a poor family that traveled from manila to Bicol through pedicab. Shanghai Film fest is considered as one of the top 3 international film fest in Asia along with Tokto and Goa.
Originally, Pauwi is an entry to the first Tofarm Film festival where tyhe film took home six major awards including Best Actor for Bembol Roco and Best Actress for Cherry Pie Picache.
“Pauwi Na” will be shown in theaters nationwide starting August 16 up to 22 as part of Pista Ng Pelikulang Pilipino.
