TOFARM FILM FESTIVAL OPENING CEREMONY

The 2nd TOFARM FILM FESTIVAL 2017 with the theme “Planting the Seed of Change” officially opened last Tuesday, July 11 at the Monet Ballroom of Novotel Manila in Araneta Center, Quezon City. The classic and epic film Banaue, a film that tells the story of the Ifugao tribe’s quest for the promise land served as the opening film. The movie was the first team-up of superstar Nora Aunor and ex-husband Christopher De Leon, The 1975 masterpiece is the last directorial job of National Artist for Film Gerry De Leon. It ganered multiple nominations from FAMAS including Best Picture, Director, Actress and Actor.
Lead star, Nora Aunor graced the event together with her co-star Ronaldo Valdez and wife Baby Gibbs. Also present during the film showing are Liberty Ilagan, Luz Valdez, Bembol Roco and Lou Veloso. Representing from the government sector is former beauty queen Liza Dino Esguerra. The event was hosted by Bb. Pilipinas International 2008 and CNN Philippines news anchor Patricia Fernandez.
A special tribute were given to celebrities who spend their time in putting up a farm business aside from being actors in show business . They are Christopher De Leon, Tirso Cruz III, Isabel Rivas, Gary Estrada, Nino Muhlach, Lorna Tolentino and Eagle Riggs.
Festival director Maryo J. Delos Reyes and over-all Festival Chairwoman Dr. Milagros How were very much overwhelmed by the turn-out of people from show businessand members of the media who attended the event.
Starting July 12, the six entries Baklad, What Home Feels Like, Instalado, Sinandomeng, High Tide and Kamunggai will be shown in SM, Gateway, Robinson’s and Ayala Cinemas.
