MIGUEL MARI GUIA GEARS UP TO COMPETE IN THE 11TH MISTER INT'L
Photos by Noli A. Berioso Mister International Philippines 2016 Miguel Mari Guia was given a rousing send-off last February 4 at the ICON Hotel in North Edsa, Quezon City. He will travel to Bangkok, Thailand to compete at the 11th Mister International Pageant in hopes of bringing home the second title for the Philippines. “I am so excited,” beamed 27-year-old Guia. “This is the first time in decades that I will be leaving the country,” he further said. “The last time I was out of the Philippines was when I was a baby until 6 years old when my family lived in the States.” Guia, who is a model and an IT student when he clinched the title during the finals of Misters of Filipinas 2016 last September, has been spending the past months preparing for the competition. “I really had to prepare physically because I am really lean, I spent a lot of time in the gym to build up my muscles. At the same time, I watched what I eat and cut back on certain food. I also had preparations in Q&A and walking. ” PEPPS President Carlo Morris Galang agrees, “I have seen his dedication and hared work in preparing for the competition. I am sure that like his predecessors, he will make our country proud.” “I am actually excited in meeting my co-candidates, I have seen their pictires online and I really want to meet them. At the same time, I am excited on the activities in store for us. I know that Bangkok is a wonderful place. I want to see the culture. I also want to taste the food.” Guia further said. The send-off of Miguel Guia was held at the ICON Hotel in Northd Ave., Quezon City. The spacious 3-star hotel boasts of beautiful decorated icon-themed rooms and even has a swimmimg pool.
