Miss Global, the international pageant that celebrates a woman’s individuality, is set to crown it’s new queen at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), with 40 candidates from all over the world vying for the prestigious title.
“We are very eager to welcome the candidates and extend to them our hospitality”, says Pauline Sofia Laping, CEO and National Director of Miss Global Philippines, the organization responsible for staging the event. “We also look forward to another exciting competition, and we can hardly wait to see who will end up with the crown”.
This is the second time that the Philippines will be hosting the pageant. Last year, 50 candidates made their way to Manila to compete in a grand production that saw Australia’s Jessixa Peart besting all the candidates.
“This is going to be another tough competition. The candidates are getting more and more competitive each year”, Ms. Laping observes.
Apart from the competition proper, the candidates are scheduled to tour some of the famous tourist spots of the Philippines including the exotic province of Bohol.
Now on it’s 4th year, the US-based international pageant has been attracting women from all over the world who are not only physically appealing, but also possess leadership qualities and love for cultural diversity and philanthropic activities.
The first Miss Global pageant was staged in Redondo Beach, California in 2013. Since then, Miss Global has been gaining strong following and is now emerging as a major player in the beauty pageant industry. Uts mission is to promote goodwill via charitable fundraisers while projecting a positive image for women across the globe.
The grand coronation night of Miss Global 2016 is slated on September 24 at the PICC Plenary Hall, hosted by GMA 7’s Derrick Monasterio and Miss Universe 2005 Natalie Glebova. It will have a delayed telecast on GMA News TV on October 9.
