EMMA CORDERO – WOMAN OF THE UNIVERSE

Eighties Princess of Songs Emma Cordero emerged victorious at the recently concluded Mrs. Universe Beauty Pageant held in Guangzhou, China a week ago. Representing Southwest Asia, Emma was conferred with the most important special award of the pageant, the “Woman of the Universe” award. She was the unanimous choice of the jurors because of her outstanding contribution to the entertainment world, her being a role model to other mothers, a successful entreprenuer, and her unending support to the advocacy of the pageant- to stop the violence among women.
A victory party cum concert was held last September 12 at the Grand Ballroom of Luxent Hotel in Quezon City and was attended by the members of the press, friends from the entertainment industry and her immediate family. She was very thankful to the national director of the pageant, Mr. Ovette Ricalde for the opportunity to represent the southwest Asian region to the pageant. She dished-out a medley of classic songs to the delight of the guests during the opening of the event. Highlight of the ceremony is the awarding of “Dangal Ng Bayan “ award, a prestigious citation given to selected people who exemplified in their fields of vocation.
Olga Torner from Austria was crowned Mrs. Universe this year. Mrs. Universe is an international beauty pageant open to married women from all continents and involved in a very significant cause.
