Grand Flores de Mayo at Pasayahan sa Lucena 2016 – A Big Success!
Pasayahan sa Lucena an annual celebration in the city that aims to promote and boost the tourism industry and to change the impression that the province is being infested by NPA’s wrapped-up last Sunday, May 24, 2016 with a Grand Flores de Mayo featuring the works of fashion designers from all over Quezon Province. This year edition of the Sagalahan was chaired by Armhand Remojo, a leading and well-know couturier in Southern part of Luzon. “ I was very elated with the turn-out of this year Flores de Mayo, the biggest and the best according to the locals here in Lucena since the festival debut way back in 1987.

“I am very thankful to all the people who helped and supported me especially to Mayor Roderick Alcala, our Hermano and Hermana Dr. Edwin Pureza and Mrs. Carlina Delgado Reyes, my colleagues in the fashion industry led by Mr. Arielle Agasang”, Remojo says during the awarding of the winners.
The Grand Flores de Mayo was participated in by popular beauty queens in the country, the likes of Janicel Lubina-Bb. Pilipinas-International 2015; Yvethe Marie Santiago-Bb. Pilipinas-Supranational 2014; Hazel Ortiz-Ms. Bikini Philippines 2014; Christine Annabel Tia; Miss United Continents Philippines 2015; Christine Estoque and Paula Rich Bartolome-Bb. Pilipinas 2016 official candidates. Also included in the event as escorts to the sagalas were Jamiel Ventoza-Manhunt International Philippines 2013; Paul Ryan Artienda- Mr. Olive-C Campus Model 2015 and Jolo Dayrit –Mr. Worldwide Philippines 2015. The procession started at Pacific Mall and passed around major landmarks in the city and culminated at the covered of Maryhill College.

A total of twenty-eight (28) designers competed for the three special awards at stake. Chosen as La Flor de Lucena was the creation of Roy Aquino with sagala Ivy Capili; Reina Delas Flores went to Ramil Estrope with sagala Coralin Ressurection and the grand winner as Rosa Mistica was awarded to Eys Vergara with Sagala Julie Ann Gil. Aside from the honor, all the winning designers received cash prizes.
