Jay Daniel Verano is Mr. Golden Universe Philippines 2016
24-year old Jay Daniel Verano Code Chuong will be traveling to Manaus, Brazil to compete in the 2016 Mister Golden Universe pageant.
Jay has been appointed by Mister United Continents Philippines organization to represent the Philippines on May 25-29, 2016. He is one of the winner of the 2016 edition of the pageant held earlier this year.
“One of my advocacy is to save our forest for the future of the next generation and also it’s my humble way of supporting different minority tribes in the country. by providing basic needs, like food, medicines and even a sports fest like a basketball league and other forms of recreations. . Also I’m planning a feeding program for them”, Jay says during an interview at his send-off party held the the Remington Hotel in Resorts World Manila last Thursday, May 19.
For his National Costume, Mikee Sangco made a Northen Mountain costume inspired by the rich culture of the Igorots. The designer believes that the patterns and fabric used by the Igorots are both unique; something that we can visually say “Truly Filipino”. Twisting the design by incorporating, merging and fusing traditional Igorot culture and modern Philippines in this costume. The traditional “BAHAG” combined with the over-sized capes and coats of modern society, that may also be interpreted as royalty is simply a work of art. The designer also believes that nations should see the richness of the country in natural resources. Thus, embellishments made of gold, wood, handmade fabric made of indigenous materials. And of course,in art. The patterns we’re all inspired by the fabric. The strong colors and combinations of red, yellow, white, green, black and brown is a harmony perfected with the touch of wood and gold embellishments. The sphere as a final touch represents our strength. Our will to win any battle that comes the way of our great nation. It represents superiority.
