




Miss Philippines Earth Addresses Climate Change on Independence Day, A Cause for Celebration
After a unprecedented back-to-back win for the Philippines by Miss Earth 2014, Jaimie Herrel and Miss Earth 2015 Angelia Ong in the Miss Earth pageant held in Vienna, Austria, Angelia also successfully completed the CLIMATE REALITY LEADERSHIP CORP’S training under Mr. Al Gore, founder and chairman of the Climate Reality Project and former Vice President of the United States.
Miss Earth’s presence in the Climate reality Leadership Corp training signifies more than ever that Miss Earth is an effective platform to create environmental awareness especially on climate change. “We also make sure our delegates are briefed on the significance of the COP Paris Agreement to be abreast with environmental issues”, explained Mr. Ramon Monzon, Chairman and President of Carousel productions, Inc.
This year, the much awaited environmental event known as Miss Philippines-Earth presented the 48 official candidates to the members of the media via a grand press presentation this morning of May 16, 2016 held at the pool side of the posh Diamond Hotel Manila in Roxas, Blvd., the official residence of this year’s edition of the pageant. After the presentation proper, 10 lucky ladies were selected as Hanna’s Beauties of Nature, the pageant main presentor, they are representatives from Puerto Princesa, Laoag, London, Dumaguete City, San Fernando City, Laoang Norther Samar, Rosales Pangasinan, Murcia Negros Occidental, Piat Cagayan and Vienna Austria.
The members of the media also voted for the most camera-friendly also known as “Darling of the Press”. Winners are Imelda Schweighart of Puerto Princesa who grabbed the bronze medal, Kiaragel Gregorio representing the Filipino Community of London bagged the silver medal and Lisa Cacho from Anda, Pangasinan brought home the gold medal.
Coronation night is scheduled on June 11 at the Aguinaldo Shrine in Kawit, Cavite to be telecast the following day, June 12 Independence Day over Kapamilya Network ABS-CBN Channel 2.
