Due to insistent clamor from handlers and aspiring beauty queens,

the Queen of the Philippines 2014 beauty pageant extended its screening last July 13 held at a private resort in Quezon City. The panel of the screening committee had a hard time in selecting who will be included in this year roster of official candidates. Applicants from reputable Universities and Colleges (UP Diliman, University of Santo Tomas, Dela Salle University, San Beda College among others) trooped the venue to try out at the newest national pageant in the land. Surprisingly, a PWD (Person With Disability) was one of the applicants yesterday. Princess Alanis Hudson Pura, a 5 foot-8 stunner with Filipino-American lineage was born deaf-mute. If she will hurdle the screening process, she will be the first PWD to make it as an official candidate in a national beauty pageant in the country.

Members of the judging panel includes Ms. Hemilyn Escudero Tamayo-former beauty queen and well known pageant trainer for aspiring beauty queens, Ms. Jessie Maloles- First Runner Up Mrs Asia International 2014 and a Rotary Club President, Richard Hinola-pageant handler and marketing Specialist, Mr. Dae Buna-President Nextmedia Advertising, Ike Vega-VP for Marketing and Operation Megastar, Salde Singo- A Registered Nurse and OPMBworldwide member based in New York City and Noli A. Berioso- chief correspondent OPMB Worldwide.
Three major titles awaits the lucky ladies and will compete in prestigious international beauty pageants abroad..Press Presentation is scheduled on July 24 at Cali Burger in front of GMA Studio in Quezon City. Grand Coronation Night is on August 1 at the Subic Bay Yacht Club, Olongapo City.
