FILIPINA-AMERICAN SINGER WANTS TO SHARE HER SONGS TO FELLOW KABABAYANS.
By Noli A. Berioso
Thirty six year-old Filipina-American musician Diane De Mesa is here in the Philippines for a two week vacation. She’s been living in the United States for more than two decades after her family decided to migrate to seek a greener pasture. Diane is a registered nurse by profession and currently employed in Salinas Hospital. She is based in Bay Area, San Jose, California with her own family, she has two children ages six and two. Diane started to sing when she was a teenager as member of their parish church choir in Olongapo.
Professionally she started her career as a singer in 2011 where she waxed her debut album entitled “Fly Away”. Her single “Miss na Miss Kita” garnered more than 3 million views in her Facebook account. Diane is also a composer. She wrote almost all of her songs in her albums. She also does some covers with her favorite artists. In 2013 she released her acoustic album “Heartstrings” followed by “Only for You” in 2016 and just March of last year, her latest and 4th album “With Love” with the carrier single “Tama Na” was out in the market.
As independent singer, she was able to established thousands of followers and her songs became familiar in Itunes, Spotify, Youtube, Music and other digital forms. She has her own band called Diane De Mesa and the LCS Sessionists playing regularly in Bay area.
She was tagged as “Princess of Love Songs” by a well known broadcaster Andy Verde because of her string of “Hugot” songs. Given a chance, Diane would like to penetrate the local mainstream music industry so that she can share her talents to other aspiring singers. Just recently one of her original compositions is being considered by a major television network as theme song of their forth coming teleserye to be recorded by an upcoming artist under a well known recording company. Someday she would like to corroborate with local singers Bugoy Drilon and Erik Santos. During spare time, Diane is busy with her online business. She is selling freshly baked meringue to her friends in Pinoy Community in California.
Last January 13, she had a “Meet and Greet” event with selected members of the press from show business and online bloggers held at Musix Box along Timog in Quezon City. The event was arranged by her local manager Mr. Alex Datu, a well known columnist and TV host in the show business. During her stay, she will be busy doing rounds on various radio stations in Metro-Manila.
We would like to wish Diana all the best of luck in her recording and singing career and may she able to establish her own mark here in the Philippines.
