JAN KIM VERGEL – OUR MAN TO MISTER NATIONAL UNIVERSE 2019

Twenty two year-old Mindoro Occidental native Jan Kim Vergel is the country’s representative to the annual Mister National Universe 2019 happening this July in Thailand. He will represent Mindoro Island in the international pageant. Vergel is the grand winner of the recently concluded Mister Continental Philippines 2019 held last May 9 at CSI Mall in Dagupan, Pangasinan
A special meet and greet cum send-off party for Vergel was held last May 18 at Giovanni’s Italian Restaurant along Manhattan Parkway in Quezon City. He was accompanied by Mr. Loty Nayo, National Director of Mister National Universe for Mindoro. A group of selected tri media members from the pageant industry were invited for the open forum part of the event. Also in attendance is Mr. Rodel Salvador, owner of Mister Continental pageant both local and international. Other local winners of Mister Continental 2019 were present in support for Vergel’s campaign in the international pageant arena.
The 5’11” Accounting graduate hunk is currently working as Front Desk Tourism Officer in his province. Given a chance, he would like to promote the preservation of the endangered Tamaraw, a dwarf buffalo that can only found in the wilds of Mindoro and the preservation of the culture and tradition of the native Mangyans. This aspiring actor also loves to dance and sing. For National Universe pageant in Thailand, Vergel will be wearing an authentic Mangyan inspired costume and other wardrobes including his suit will be provided by Paul Semira.
