Former athlete and young entrepreneur Dia Nicole Magno hurdles the first round of competition of the 56th edition of Bb. Pilipinas by making it to the Top 40 of official candidates out of more than eighty applicants. The final selection was held last Monday, March 18 at the New Frontier Theater in Cubao, Araneta Center, Quezon City.
This year’s diverse set of candidates comprise of first timers, returnees, national and international title holders. A load of activities awaits them in the next few months leading to the finals on June 9 where six major titles are at stakes.
Dia is a native of Butuan City, CARAGA Region. Before joining the most prestigious pageant in the land, she already competed and represented the Philippines in the biennial Southeast Asian Games in Jakarta where she placed 4th over-all in badminton singles event.
Last Saturday March 23, she revealed during an intimate conversation with selected media over merienda at Gerry’s Grill that she has no specific game plan for the pageant. She just wanted to enjoy every moment of the competition and very much elated to represent their region in the pageant. It will be a bonus if she will make it to the podium of the winners for this year she says. She is part of the Kagadahang Flores (KF) Beauty Camp under the helm of beauty queen maker Rogil Flores.
