MAKE WAY FOR RIA PERSAD, TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO’S BET FOR MRS. UNIVERSE 2018 PAGEANT

Storm chaser Ria Persad is this year’s representative of Trinidad and Tobago for the 2018 edition of Mrs. Universe pageant slated on December 10 at the Queen City of the South, Cebu. She had a intimate meet and greet with selected members of the media before she leaves tomorrow Dec. 10 to start her campaign in the international pageant for married women and single mothers.
The forty-four year-old beauty was born in her hometown in Trinidad but spent most of her life in New York City where she migrated. She has a degree in BS Mathematics and Physics at the Cambridge and Harvard Universities. Ria has worked for National Aeronautics and Space Administration and currently connected with a disaster group here in the Philippine for almost a year now where they study the behavior of the tropical storms in the country.
Ria was once featured in CNN, a leading international news channel and in Oprah, a popular celebrity talk show in the US for being a scientist and as an artist as well. She also walked the ramp for a series of high fashion shows from the Pink bride to New York Fashion Week. She is a consistent achiever in the field of Science and Arts (having won the Bradshaw and Buono International Piano Competition).
Ria had her first taste of pageantry when she competed and proclaimed as Ms. USS National 2017 held in Tennessee. She was also Ms. Trinidad and Tobago World 2017 where she competed at the Ms. World in Seattle mid of this year.
Ria is an entrepreneur and the founder of StatWeather and the Freedom Scholars of America Scholarship Fund. She modeled for a number of high-end brands such as Abercrombie & Fitch, Hollister, Lexus Luxury Vehicles, Paul Mitchell Hair & Beauty and Ghabriello Fernando Gowns. She is also involved in theater and arts and been parts of various musical productions and piano recitals in the United States.
The Mrs. Universe 2018 pageant is expected to draw ninety delegates from all over the world.
