KATARINA RODRIGUEZ IS ALL SET TO CONQUER THE WORLD

Twenty-six year old Filipino-American beauty Katarina Sonja Rodriguez is more than ready to show the world that she got what it takes to be the next Miss World. She was born in Orlando, Florida USA to Filipino parents with Spanish lineage. Her family moved in the Philippines when was about to start her college year. She finished a degree in Business Management and Philosophy at De La Salle University, Taft, Manila.
A special send-off press conference was held last November 8 at the iconic Annabel’s Restaurant in Timog, Quezon City attended by the members of the press from television, newspapers and blogs. Miss World Philippines National Director says that Katarina was a clear favorite from the start up to the penultimate day of Miss World Philippines 2018. “She has the poise and regal bearing of a winning queen but more than that she’s a woman of substance and its show the minute she starts talking about her passions, her advocacies, and how this new chapter of her life can help shine the spotlight on more deserving causes and advocacies”, Vegafria adds.
Katarina is a consistent performer based on her previous international stints (Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 2 and Miss Intercontinental 2017 where she ends up 3rd and 2nd over-all respectively). She is also an athlete, a cyclist, a distance runner and a member of DLSU Womens Track and Field team. Right now, she is part of the reality TV show on cable channel entitled “The People’s Queen”. She said that there are parts of the series that will surely help her in pursuing the second Miss World crown for the country.
About 120 delegates from different parts of the world will converge in Sanya, China (for the 8th time) starting November 9 in quest for the Miss World crown on December 8, the coronation date and many Filipino pageant aficionados are pinning their hope for Katarina to follow the footstep of Megan Young five years ago in Bali, Indonesia.
Miss World pageant was created in 1951is regarded as one of the oldest and most prestigious pageant in the whole world with Miss Julia Morley as the chairwoman of the Miss World Organization.
