JENNY GUINTO TO REPRESENT THE PHILIPPINES ANEW

Noli A. Berioso

Fifty-three year old businesswoman and former movie star Jenny Guinto will going to compete in another international beauty pageant for married women. This time she will represent the country in the forthcoming Classic Mrs. Asia International 2018 pageant on November 15 in Ruyong, Thailand.

A rousing send-off luncheon press conference was held last Nov. 6 at the Kamay Kainan Restaurant along West Avenue, Quezon City attended by selected members of the media and her close family circuit. She is leaving on Thursday via Air Asia. Guinto was as our representative to 2016 Mrs. Universe pageant held in China where she won 2 special awards (Mrs. Fashion Icon and Mrs. Velmar) In the same year, she once again competed in another international beauty contest, this time in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for the 2016 Noble Queen pageant where she ends up 2nd runner-up.

Jenny was once a Bb. Pilipinas aspirant and has joined in several beauty contests during the early 80’s. This true-blooded Cavitena also became a movie star and has done a number of full length films mostly actions. One of her most unforgettable film was directed by Eddie Romero entitled “a Case of Honor” in 1989. She is a single parent with three children. Given a chance to have a comeback in the silver screen, she wants to portray a role of a contrabida.  Aside from her business in Japan, she is currently managing her own travel agency. Mr. Ovette Ricalde, local franchise holder of the pageant has high hope that this time Jenny will finally bring home a crown. Her advocacy is to stop domestic violence against women.  Among our past beauty queen, she idolized Miss International 1979 Melanie Marquez for being natural and down to earth.

Coming November 15, she will be competing alongside with 28 other mothers on the Classic category of Mrs. Asia International 2018 pageant. We wish Jenny all the best of luck in her forth coming international competition and hopefully she will bring home another international crown for the Philippines.
