Miss World founder, chairman and CEO Julia Morley flew back to Manila yesterday, October 4, together with Miss World 2016 Stephanie del Valle of Puerto Rico and reigning Miss World 2017 Manushi Chhillar of India to be among the special guests of honor for the forthcoming Miss World Philippines 2018 coronation night on Sunday, October 7, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
The businesswoman, charity worker and former model looks forward to crowning this year’s winning batch of Miss World Philippines queens, who are expected to duplicate the winning streak of their predecessors who collectively posted grandslam three-peat victories in their respective international pageants during their reign.
“This year candidates have a big shoes to fill”, admits Morley, referring to the great expectations of pageant fans and critics for this year’s crop of beauty queen aspirants.
But more than just the sheer glitz and glam, Morley also looks forward to forging more intensive efforts for the pageant’s charity and advocacy efforts in the country, and across the globe.
She also lauds the efforts of MWP National Director Arnold Vegafria not just in sustaining the group’s ongoing charity efforts and advocacies, but also in strengthening the Miss World Organization’s reach in the Southeast Asian region, particularly in Singapore and Malaysia.
Furthermore, the group makes pageant history again this year as it launches its very first nationwide search for Mr. World Philippines 2018, which will culminate during its grand pageant on October 24 at Resorts World Manila’s Newport Performing Arts Theater.
Joining Julia Morley’s 2018 Manila entourage are Event Director Stephen Douglas
Morley, Miss World Administration Head Kerry Langlois, OB Director Joseph Warwick, head of Technical Production Nick Parry, Stage Director Donna Walsh, Head of Health and safety Vivian Grant Harris and Mr. World 2012-203 Francisco Escobar of Colombia.
