MANILA IS THE STAGING CITY FOR THE 47TH MISS INTERCONTINENTAL BEAUTY PAGEANT
Noli A. Berioso reports for OPMBworldwide
The 47th Miss Intercontinental beauty pageant will be held in Manila on January 26, 2019 in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
The international pageant will be participated by more than 80 countries with their respective candidates vying for the crown. The pageant advocacy is diversity of beauty and women empowerment.
Originally, the pageant will be held in Japan but due to unavailability of venue because of the forthcoming Olympic Games, the organizers shifted the pageant’s venue to Manila.
To formally launch the 47th edition of the beauty pageant, wherein Manila is the welcoming and staging city, a press conference was held on October 4, Thursday at the Taft Room of Conrad Hotel MOA Complex in Pasay City.
The launching was attended by the reigning Miss Intercontinental 2017 Veronica Salas Vallejo from Mexico, Miss Intercontinental Japan Akari Maeda, Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental 2018 Karen Juanita Gallman, Deflet Tursies CEO of Miss Intercontinental Organization and Joanna Leonisa Gimena Miyamae CEO of Miss Intercontinental Japan.
There will be a pre-pageant called Filipiniana Night wherein the 80 international candidates will be wearing Filipina formal dresses/gowns. The winning designer of the Filipiniana outfit will receive a plaque of recognition and US$1000.00 cash prize.
