KEANNA REEVES TO FILE CHARGES VS. BAR OWNER; APPEALS TO NETIZENS FOR FAIR JUDGEMENT
Actress-comedienne Keanna Reeves will file counter charges against the owner of a comedy bar in Binan, Laguna. She disclosed her intention to bring the matter in court to selected members of media during a mini press conference held at Danny’s Grill last Sunday, August 19, 2018.
According to her testimony, she agreed to perform at the grand opening of Comikera Bar located in Halang, Binan, Laguna owned by a certain Nancy Ignacio Dimaranan for three nights. She also agreed for a small sum of honorarium (not a talent fee) of P5,000 per show as her way of helping the owner of the bar. The first two nights went on smoothly. It was on the third and penultimate night on July 14, 2018 when she encountered the problem with the owner. “Yung show ko kase nung July 14 ay inabot ng alas dos ng madaling araw at paglabas namin ng bar nag uumpisa ng umambon Tinanong ko sya kung pwede ba kami magpahatid pauwi kahit hanggang Alabang lang. Kase from there pwede na kaming mag book sa Grab,” Keanna narrates. “Pero wala syang ginawang effort, hindi na daw pwede kami sa sasakyan nya dahil wala ng pwesto. Hindi ko alam kung ano ang problema nya basta ang sakin lang sana ay konting pabor as performer ng kanyang bar. I was hoping na ihahatid nya kami sa nearest place na pwede kaming mag book.Dis oras na ng umaga yun, napaka delikado kung mag hihintay kami sa daan ng matagal at isa pa hindi kami masyadong familiar sa place. Basta nung pauwi na kami deadma na talaga sya.”
Luckily, while waiting for a cab to arrived, they were spotted by a kind hearted store manager of a convenient store and accompanied them to the nearest branch in San Pedro, Laguna. Inside the store Keanna went on FB live where she disclosed her resentment on the shabby treatment from Dimaranan.
Three days after the incident, Keanna filed a formal complaint at the Actors Guild office. She also went to the city hall of Binan where she discovered that the establishment has no permit to operate during her three night shows. She then went to the Philippine Statistics Office where she able to obtain two birth certificates of Dimaranan, before and after her sex reassignment surgery.
On the other hand, Dimaranan filed a cyber crime complaint against Keanna. During an interview with 24 Oras and TV Patrol, she disclosed that her family was scandalized because of what Keanna posted on FB. A day after Keanna also got interviewed to answer all the allegations but it has yet to be aired by the two news program.
“Medyo masama ang loob ko dahil naglaan ako ng oras para masabi ko naman ang hindi magandang karanasan na sinapit ko sa may ari ng bar. Hanggang ngayon hindi pa rin lumalabas ang interview sakin ng 2 news program. Parang naging one sided eh, ako ang lumalabas na may kasalanan sa issue na kung iisipin inilabas ko lang naman ang sama ng loob ko dahil sa hindi magandang pag trato sakin as performer. Ngayon kung anu-anong paninira at masakit na salita ang pinopost nya (Dimaranan) sa FB, na ako daw ay adik, laos at pokpok. Hindi ko naman pwedeng palampasin yan, may pamilya din ako at mga anak na prinoprotektahan,” she says.
She already talked to her lawyer and she is planning to file a separate case of libel, first at the Department of Justice and another at the office of SUGSCELAMANSTRICO, a tribe in Cebu headed by Reynaldo Llanos Quimada also known as Datu Mansampiton. As legitimate member of the Sugbuanon Tribe in Cebu City, she will be accorded with all the rights and privileges given to all members under their law.
“Ito lang ang mensahe ko kay Dimaranan, hindi ako uurong sa kasong ito. Magkita na lang kami sa tamang lugar at oras. Marami akong ebidensya na magpapatunay na walang halong paninira ang mga pahayag ko. My life is an open book to the public wala akong tinatago, wala akong kinakatakutan, malinis ang konsiyensya ko.” Keanna ended.
