








Bb. PILIPINAS CANDIDATES CHAMPION FILIPINO ARTISTRY IN NATIONAL COSTUME SHOW

Whether in the more modern take on Ternos or colorful tribal wear, Filipino artistry was in full display during the Bb. Pilipinas 2018 National Costume show at the Kia Theater on March 3, Saturday.
The 40 official candidates were a picture of grace and fierceness as they presented their national costumes that were nothing short of piece of art.
Many of the candidates and their designers paid tribute to the late Pitoy Moreno, a former member of the Bb. Pilipinas Charities Inc. executive committee, by incorporating the elements he made famous in their modern interpretation of Terno.
The other candidates chose to go tribal, wearing vibrant pieces that represented various regions and indigenous peoples in the country.
The crowd roared in appreciation of each candidate’s and designer’s beautiful collaboration.
Prior to the national costume presentation, the candidates and reigning Bb. Pilipinas queens Miss Universe Philippines Rachel Peters, Bb. Pilipinas International Mariel De Leon, Miss intercontinental first runner-up Katarina Rodriguez, Miss Globe first runner-up Nelda Ibe, Miss Grand International second runner-up Elizabeth Clenci and Bb. Supranational Chanel Olive Thomas starred in a fierce fashion show wearing the latest collection from Jag Jeans, one of the pageant’s major sponsors.
The participating designers: Francis Libiran, Aryel Dulay, Lemuel Rosos, Dave Ocampo, King Aranchado and Kim Amora, Jonas “Sanjo Hiro” Maghirang, Jared Servano, Polly Lagyap, John Cliff, Justine Navato, Chico Estiva, Jay-R Gamboa Flores, Richard Baretto, Benj Leguiab, Michael Leyva, Mikee Andrei, Ryan Uson Ablaza, Nat Manilag, Jearson Demavivas, Sonny Boy Mindo, Pablo Mendez, Kenneth “Malayka” Yamas, Bea Bianca, Hanz Coquilla, Joel Acebuche, Apple Santillan, Nick Guarino, Neil Patrick Jimlani, Philip Tampus, Archie Castillo, Albert Figuerras, Edwin Uy, Adriano Samar, Ian Paul Semira, Louis Pangilinan, Gerry Fernandez and Thomas Jed Boncodin
The national costume show is one of the most anticipated events leading to the Coronation Night on March 18 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
On March 10, the candidates will be roaming the Araneta Center grounds for the annual Parade of beauties.
