LAGUNA PROVINCE GEARS UP FOR ANILAG FESTIVAL 2018

One of the most exciting and colorful festivals in the country is happening next month in the heart of Laguna Province. Anilag Festival, touted as the “Mother of All Festivals” in the region started way back in 2004 where the citizens of the Laguna celebrates its whole year-round bountiful harvest. It is a week-long celebration (March 10-17) with various activities lined-up for all the Lagunense.
A press conference was held last February 19, 2018 at the Provincial Capitol of the province. Huge numbers of media from TV networks, radio station, broadsheet and blogs trooped the venue. The event was attended by no less than the Governor of Laguna, Hon. Ramil L. Hernandez. He says” Anilag Festival is a celebration that focuses on the province’s good harvest from its abundant resources, rich culture, and professional pool of manpower. Lagunense are known for being good people, we are one of the most peaceful province nationwide according to the latest statistics and to prove that local and foreign visitors are keep on coming not only because of our natural resources and scenic spots but also because of our hospitable people here.”
With this year’s theme “Sama-Sama ang Pamilya sa Masayang Laguna”, the festival offers a host of benefits to participating communities specifically in the tourism aspect. To showcase the culture , talents and resources of the province, major programs and activities will be happening during the week-long celebration. These are trade fair competition, land float parade, street dance, Binibini at Ginoong Laguna pageant search, fashion competition, car and motor show, film and photography competition and other exciting events that will also caters to the members of the LGBT community and senior citizens.
Also present during the press conference are the Provincial Administrator of Laguna Atty. Dulce H. rebanal and the head of the Tourism Dept. Dr. Rosauro A. Sta. Maria, Jr.
The center of the celebration is at the capitol town Sta. Cruz and will be coinciding with the foundation day of the entire province. The festival encompasses all walks of life in Laguna and truly a crucible of cultural experience and foremost representative of Laguna’s heritage and economic potential.
