MISS SUPRANATIONAL PHILIPPINES 2013 MUTYA JOHANNA DATUL SEND-OFF PARTY
From being a “simpleng probinsyana na may matayog na pangarap” to bagging this year’s Miss Supranational-Philippines 2013 crown, 21-year-old Mutya Johanna Datul has come a long way. As she makes the last-minute preparations before her departure on August 17, Mutya’s excitement to compete in Miss Supranational 2013 grows. “I am very overwhelmed and happy at napaka-excited na makapunta dun sa Belarus to represent the Philippines at Miss Supranational,” she shares.
Months of rigorous training after the Binibining Pilipinas pageant will keep Mutya in good stead. To get herself ready for her pageant stint in Belarus, Mutya has leveled up on her preparations, which began soon after the coronation night. From gym sessions, pasarela lessons, and language and personality development classes to TV guestings, ramp shows, photo shoots and various appearances at high-profile events such as the Franchise Asia Philippines 2013 Expo last July, Mutya has got more than enough help in preparing for her upcoming pageant stint.
Like her beauty queen idols, Miss Universe 2010 4th Runner-up Venus Raj and Miss Universe 2011 3rd Runner-up Shamcey Supsup, Mutya is looking forward to representing the country in the Miss Supranational Pageant. Like Venus and Shamcey, she knows that she can do well—even win—the pageant. “Pinaghirapan ko ito. Sa heart ko at sa mind ko, ito talaga yung pinapangarap ko, kasi gusto kong makapagbigay ng karangalan sa Pilipinas,” she adds.
The statuesque beauty from Sta. Maria, Isabela was given a rousing send off by Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc., her fellow Binibinis and the media at the Gloria Maris at Gateway Mall. She will leave the Philippines for Belarus buoyed by the support of her fans, and the well-wishes of her fellow Binibining Pilipinas queens.
As last year’s Miss Supranational 3rd Runner-up, Elaine Kay Moll knows how it is to compete in a global pageant, and offers some wise advice for Mutya. “I told Mutya to be herself, to be confident, and to do her best. She works very hard; she’s been preparing for this since she won in Binibining Pilipinas last April. Masipag siya, so I know all her hard work will pay off. My wish for her is for her to enjoy her time in Belarus, because this once-in-a-lifetime experience is priceless,” she advises.
