During the send – off, the queens thanked their fans and supporters, and expressed hope for their continued support as they try to bring honor to the country, and show the world what true Filipina beauty means.
Binibing Pilipinas Grand International 2017 Elizabeth Clenci is first to compete. Recently appointed as Peace Ambassador by the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP), her advocacy is focused on contributing to the effort of achieving lasting peace in the country. She will represent the Philippines in the Miss Grand International Competition in Phu Quoc , Vietnam on October 25. She follows the footsteps of Miss Grand International 2016 Nicole Cordoves, who finished first runner – up in last year’s international pageant in Las Vegas.
“Pilot Queen” Bb. Pilipinas Globe 2017 Nelda Ibe will vie for the Miss Globe crown on November 3 in Tirana, Albania. The beauty has previously volunteered with Gawad Kalinga building homes for homeless youth, and hopes to be given the opportunity to continue with this advocacy during her reign. Nelda aims to duplicate Miss Globe 2015 Ann Lorraine Colis’ win at the Miss Globe 2015 competition.
Opera singer Bb. Pilipinas International Mariel De Leon is set to compete in Tokyo, Japan on November 14. Daughter of actors Christopher De Leon and Sandy Andolong, she is making a name for herself in the Philippines showbiz scene, and aims to promote traditional and classical arts, music, and culture. Mariel is being touted as a strong successor to reigning Miss International 2016 Kylie Versoza, who does not discount the possibility of a back-to- back win for the Philippines.
