JEWEL OF THE PHILIPPINES 2017 GRAND LAUNCHING

After the successful inaugural of Jewel of the Philippines 2016 August of last year, the pageant is back again for the second edition and have even more exciting to offer for the pageant aficionados. For this year onwards, the pageant focuses on the promotion of Philippines Culture, Arts and Education. Jewel of the Philippines already forged a special partnership with Department of Education -MIMAROPA (Region IV-B) and it aims to partner with the National Commission for Culture and Arts to which pageant chairman John Dela Vega says that his goal is for the pageant to become a venue to showcase the rich Filipino culture and its truly magnificent artistic expressions through a spectacle of beauty. Most of the pageant n the country promotes tourism, charity, youth, women and the likes. One that is always overlooked is the promotion of Philippine culture and heritage. With the re-branding of the pageant to a “cultural pageant,” young Filipinas are expected to be made more culturally aware eventually becoming “Advocates of Philippine Culture and the Arts.
The 2017 launching was held at the lobby of Newport Theater of Performing Arts, Resorts World Manila last September 8 attended by members of the media from major TV networks, newspapers and blogs. Another reason to be excited about is the partnership with KIF (Keen Instant Fortune) Travel and Leisure, a Chinese company that is also into property development and Applications apart from tourism, Travel and Leisure. With offices in HK, Taiwan and Macau, KIF has recently expanded its operations in Asia including the Philippines. The partnership aims to introduce and bring the two cultures closer together and provide an avenue for anon-traditional “cultural experience” by way of a beauty pageant. Owner and CEO Mr. Tu Yu “Rocky” Han believes the country makes a strategic regional hub for the company as it boasts of many scenic spots, colorful trafitions and exciting adventures.
Also present during the launch are the reigning queens of Jewel of the Philippines 2016 led by Romellean Pontino is set to leave tomorrow for Guayaquil, Ecuador to compete at the annual Miss United Continents 2017 beauty pageant, Gladys Santos (Miss Tourism World), Cindy De Vera (Global Charity Queen) and Inna Patricia Guita (Miss Globe International) set to compete this coming October in Turkey. Also in attendance are Jellie Escandon Miss Philippines-USA 3rd runner-up and recently competed at the Miss World Philippines pageant and Ms. Ali Forbes Miss Grand International 2014 3rd runner-up. The launch was hosted by Annabel Tia former Miss Philippines United Continents 2015.
Reigning Jewel of the Philippines Natasha Manuel already competed in the Miss ASEAN 2017 pageant early this year. Jewel of the Philippines 2017 Coronation Night is set on October 7 at the UP GT-Toyota Asian Cultural Center, Katipunan Avenue, Diliman, Quezon City with twenty-four (24) official candidates to be chosen from among the applicants who will troop to Madisson 101 Hotel & Tower, Aurora Blvd., Quezon City on September 9. Screening time is from 1:00pm to 5:00pm.
