
State U Cum Laude is Miss Global Philippines 2016
Twenty-eight year old Cum Laude graduate of the University of the Philippines in Diliman was crowned the new Miss Global Philippines 2016 in a glittering coronation last night June 4 held at the Newport Theater, Resort World Manila.
Camille Hirro, a Bachelor of Arts Communication major in Broadcasting graduate and a native of Lubao, Pampanga bested twenty-two other hopefuls during the finals of the three year-old beauty pageant.

“ I am a host and a writer by profession. I also ghostwrite for a few politicians and columnists. I was a consistent honor student from elementary to college. I received 14 awards when I finished highschool. I had an average of 1.75 when I finished college. I don’t drink and smoke”, Camille says during an interview. She adds to the list of beauty queens who were sporting short hair when they crowned. ( Ma. Cristina “Pinky” Alberto, Jewel Mae Lobaton, Luz Policarpio, Kristine Caballero among others). “At the moment I am busy doing hosting job in one of the major casino hotel in the country and in between I do home shopping TV stint”, she adds.

Pauline Laping CEO of MGP is very proud of this year’s roster of candidates. “We are very happy to mount another edition of Miss Global-Philippines pageant. We are now on our third year and we have been successfully gathering remarkable women to represent our country in the international stage”, Pauline enthused. Completing the top five winners were Perlyn Ocampo-Firt Runner-Up; Janele Olafson-2nd Runner-Up, Sammie Ann Legaspi-3rd Runner-Up and Christine Horstmann-4th Runner-Up.
Miss Global Philippines is aimed at promoting the country’s rich heritage and diverse culture. The winner will uses her title as a platform to support the local tourism sector Miss Global Philippines is the only beauty pageant in the country today that is open to single moms.
