
The Screen Version of the Legendary Tale of Maria Labo
Maria Labo, a tale of a local vampire (aswang) specifically in Visayan region of the Philippines will be seen on big screen this November 11, 2015. This is a story of a faithful wife and a loving mother to her two kids. Maria decided to become an OFW in the Middle East to ease up the burden of raising her family and to provide her children a better future. A tragedy happened while she’s working as care giver, she was abused and raped by local men in the Middle East. According to the tale, due to sufferings she experienced, Maria became mentally ill and killed people to sustain her craving for blood and human flesh to the point that she cooked her kids and eat them and served as dinner to her husband.
The film version stars newcomer Kate Briosas the doomed Maria Labo, an entrepreneur in Bacolod City. Cast includes action star Jestoni Alarcvon as her husband, Sam Pinto, Dennis Padilla, Baron Geisler, Mon Confiado, PJ Abellana and Rez Cortez.
Drama-action actor Roi Vinzon directs the horror movie under KIB production in cooperation with VIVA Films and Star Builders Talent Agency and Film Production. Premiere Night is set on November 10, 2015, 5pm at SM Mega Mall Cinema.
