
Kayla Marie Talusan - Philippine Rep to Miss Mermaid International ‘15
Twenty-three year old stunner and college student Kayla Marie Partoza Talusan is the country’s first ever representative to the 2nd Miss Mermaid International 2015 Beauty Pageant to be held at the Sheraton Soma Bay in Hurghada, Egypt from September 27 to October 5, 2015.
Kayla is presently enrolled in two major courses in one of the leading universities in the country. She is taking-up Business Information Management and Culinary Arts at the same time. This 5’7” charmer loves to cook and surf social media sites, she is also into sport like swimming and attend gym session to keep her body always in tip top shape. “I was really ecstatic and excited when I learned through Tito Ovette Ricalde that I was officially handpicked by their agency to be the Philippines official entry for this one of a kind pageant. I know many Filipinos will be interested to watch this contest because as we all know mermaids is a popular myth and considered as part of the Philippine culture.
We have our local mermaid Dyesebel created by a well known novelist and being followed by millions of viewers and readers though television, movies and comics”, Kayla says during a press conference cum send-off party held at the pool side of the historic Manila Hotel last Thursday, September 24.
Kayla will be competing with close to fifty delegates from all over the globe vying for the title of Miss Mermaid International 2015. During the competition proper, there will be six sections of judging namely; face, figure, interview, creativity ( decoration of mermaid costume), long distance diving and mermaid posing under water. Germany is the home based of this pageant and being chaired by William A. Balser- CEO and founder of Miss Mermaid International and Miss Mermaid Germany.
The winner will be receiving fabulous package of prizes and opportunity to travel to Germany and other places worldwide.
“Right now I have my regular swimming and diving lessons. I am very thankful for having a very good and excellent trainer who patiently taught me not only the basics of the sport but as well as the beauty and grace within this discipline. Of course all of this will not be possible without the supports of my family and friends. I will do my very best to be worthy of this responsibility of being a representative of a nation”, Kayla ended.
