




MISS REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES 2015 PRESS LAUNCH
Miss Republic of the Philippines Beauty pageant was a popular national beauty contest started in 1966 up to 1976. Notable winners of the pageant are Evangeline Pascual in 1973 where she placed 2nd over-all at the Miss World 1973 pageant, Ana Bayle who became a popular ramp model in New York, Suzanne Gonzales, Eva Reyes, Elizabeth Oropesa and Bessie Badilla were well known names in entertainment field.
Last April 15, the rebirth of this classic pageant was formally launched at the Rajah Function Room of The Grand Villas in Mandaluyong City. Headed by philanthropist and business woman Lynette Padolina, the event was attended by the members of the media from TV Networks, newspapers and online sites. The pageant premiere advocacy is to promote the Philippine Tourism. “ We aim to provide a worthwhile pageant that shall provide opportunities to modern Filipinas in the global arena eventually become a bona fide goodwill ambassadress that can represent the Filipino image of excellence through this pageant”. Ms. Padolina says during the launch. “We would like to infuse the spirit of achieving best practices and highest standard in the pageant industry”. Padolina added.
The pageant is eyeing from 30 to 40 official candidates on its initial year. Half of which will be coming from the different Filipino Communities in abroad and the rest will be from a nationwide search/screening that will begin May until July of this year. Two major titles will be given away – Miss Republic of the Philippines 2015 and Miss Republic of the Philippines International 2015 with three special titles namely Miss Luzon, Miss Visayas and Miss Mindanao.
The applicants must be a natural born female, never given birth, high school graduate, 18 to 25 years old, at least 5’ 4” in height, with good moral character and pleasant personality and at least with one grandparent in the direct maternal or paternal line possessing Filipino citizenship.
Aside from the monetary prizes, the winners will be bestowed with a full scholarship of their choice of vocation with free lodging and accommodations during their reign. The pageant’s main agenda will be on Philippine Tourism, Education and Filipino Heritage. The Grand Coronation night will be happening September 2015 .
