MISS AVIATION 2015 WINNERS

Miss Aviation, a prestigious pageant way back in the 50’s up to the 70’s made a successful comeback this year. Thirteen lovely young and beautiful Filipinas vied for the title during pageant’s finals last February 10 at the Rigodon Ballroom of Peninsula Manila in Makati City.

This year, the title bears more meaning as the candidates were chosen from different aviation and tourism sectors. More than the prestige of the title, Miss Aviation Philippines carries with its profound advocacies- and that is to give voice to women in aviation industry, to inspire the youth to pursue a career in aviation, and become an ambassador of goodwill in bringing the industry together towards safer, more efficient and service-oriented practices.

The first winner of this search back in the 50s was the late Joji Felix-Velarde and the last to be crowned in the 70s was movie actress Lotis Key. Morena Carla Cabrera-Quimpo, the pageant director was proud to have this beauty contest back in limelight of the pageant industry. From avionics, technicians, to flight cabin crew, to flight dispatchers, aeronautical engineers, and aviation students, these ladies will surely be the future leaders in the industry, and young people can look to them for inspiration”. Carla says.

The pageant was ably supported by Philippine International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta (PIHABF), one of Asia’s longest running sports aviation events, that gathers aviators from the local and international scene.

The pageant was hosted by former Bb. Pilipinas-Universe Karen Loren Agustin-Ostrea and after almost 2 hour of competition seventeen year old Aviation Electronic Technology student Cleo Margaret Brown was crowned Miss Aviation 2015. Aside from the crown she also won P100,000 in cash and other fabulous prizes. First Runner-Up honor went to Liezel Louise Resoles and second Runner-Up went to pageant veteran Micah Angela Angeles. The crowned winners will make their first public appearance at Weekend of Everything that Flies in Clark, Pampanga from February 12-15, 2015.

Again our congratulations to the winners and organizers!
