Cordillera’s Pride Glennifer D. Perido, a Professional Model and Registered Nurse and reigning Mutya ng Pilipinas 2014 Tourism International is all set to compete at the 2014-15 Miss Tourism International Pageant to be held in Malaysia from December 9 to 31, 2014. She will be battling out more than sixty (60) of the world’s most beautiful women in the finals to be held at the Putrajaya International Convention Center (ICC) on New Year’s Eve 2015.
A native of Kalinga Province, Glennifer earned the right to represent the Philippines by bagging the Mutya ng Pilipinas 2014 Tourism International Title during the Finals of this year’s Mutya ng Pilipinas Pageant held last August 8 at the Solaire Resorts and Casino. She also bagged the Best in Long Gown, Mutya ng Zen Institute, Mutya ng Rain or Shine and Miss Ivana Special Awards.
“I do acknowledge the huge pressure in the competition considering that our country already won the title twice in a row courtesy of Miss Rizzini Gomez and Angeli Dione Gomez. But it didn’t diminish my excitement and motivation to represent our country in the best way I could possibly do and by God’s grace, also bring honor and pride for the Philippines.”says Glennifer during the joint send-off press conference held last December 5 at the Sequoia Hotel in Quezon City, with fellow Mutya ng Pilipinas Eva Psychee Patalinjug who is also scheduled to compete for Top Model of the World on January 2015 in China.
“I’m very thankful for the tremendous help given to me by Mutya ng Pilipinas Inc. officers and staff, and the valuable advice and pageant tips shared to me by both Rizzini and Angeli, this plus the prayers and support of my family, friends and mentors and my strong faith in God are my strongest weapon in facing the huge challenge ahead.“ Glennifer further adds.
She will be wearing a Modern Filipiniana piece designed by Eric de los Santos for the National Costume Segment and Sidney Eculla Creations for the Long Gown Competition. Glennifer will likewise perform a Kappa Malong Malong, (a traditional Maranao dance that shows the many ways of wearing a malong, a simple tubular yet highly functional piece of cloth used by the southern belles),
choreographed by Mr. Andrew Duma-up, during the Special Talent Presentation of the Pageant.
