MISS SCUBA PHILIPPINES 2014 OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED

The search for the country’s representative for this year’s Miss Scuba International was officially  launched. Miss Scuba Philippines 2014 was formally launched last June 21, 2014 at the NU-VO Bar and Restaurant, GB2, Makati City. Present during the event is no other than Paula Love Bernasor who represented the country at the last year edition of the pageant. She emerged First Runner-up among the contestants from around the globe whose mission is the protection and conservation of our marine environment.  This year’s pageant is being presented by Pacific Cebu Resort, a leading Resort and Diving Spot located in Mactan, Cebu. Mr. Charles Lim, head of Miss Scuba Philippines organization was very much ecstatic and welcomed all the members of media who attended the event.  Present also during the launching were Mr. Rey Velandrez - representing Pacific Cebu Resort and Miss Barbie Chan from SAV- the company that managed the Hotel Resort. Mr.  Belandres said that “this one-of-a-kind pageant promotes scuba diving and ocean preservation while celebrating the inner beauty and courage of today’s women.”

Belandres added that the pageant also aims to promote safe diving practices through worldwide professional training organizations, and to elevate international tourism and cultural appreciation.

Applicants for this year’s pageant must be a Filipino Citizen, 18 to 28 years of age, at6 least 5’4’ in height, able to converse in English, know how to swim and a certified diver (at least on the first level), willing to promote marine conservation and Scuba Sport, of good health and good moral character, single and never been married and never given birth to a child, and not under contract to any firm, person or organization. Registration for possible applicants will starts on June 19 and the last day of filing is on August 15. The pageant night is on September 26 at the Pacific Cebu Resort.  The winner will received P150,000, First Runner Up-P100,000 and 2nd Runner Up -P50,000. The winner will be the Philippines representative to Miss Scuba International to be held in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia on November 28, 2014.
