BEAUTY QUEEN PHILANTHROPIST SPENT BIRTHDAY WITH JEEPNEY DRIVERS
By Noli A. Berioso
Reigning Elite Mrs. Philippines International 2020 Michelle Vitug Encarnacion celebrates her birthday today September 15 with close to sixty public utility jeepney drivers in Barangay Bulihan Silang, Cavite where she distributed bags of groceries and hygiene kits.
The iconic “King of the Road” was one of the major casualties of the corona virus outbreak as the local government imposed a total strict lockdown that impaired thousands of jeepney drivers throughout the country.
Vitug Encarnacion is very well-known in the pageant industry for giving back to the less fortunate for all the blessings and abundance that came her way. “I am into public service even before I was got involved in the world of pageantry” she says during a brief interview. She’s been into supporting and helping various charity institutions and foundations by conducting feeding programs, distribution of school supplies, granting scholarships for deserving students and many more. She was joined by close friends and other volunteers in facilitating the charity event. (Mr. Alex Moico, Road Manager and officer at the Office of the Solicitor General, beauty queens Sammy Anne Legaspi and Pauline Abygail Ebora and close confidante and a Bb. Pilipinas alumna Ms. Jovita Laureola). Barangay officials of Silang were also present headed by Kag. Carmen Fajardo Cago-Ampo and Kag. Juling Almendras Lanting.
An entrepreneur by profession, Michelle is the CEO of Belmere Skin Care Centre, a popular wellness and beauty clinic with branches in Shaw Blvd and in Quezon City. Just recently, she started a new business venture which is very essential and timely for the current situation of our country. “Together with my few business partners, we conceptualized “Pharma Aid”. I believe in the mantra “Health is Wealth” and it is my little way of helping out to combat the fatal covid19 virus by providing essential products and services to the people for the protection against sickness”, she says.
Michelle is still looking forward to represent the country in the next edition of Mrs. Elite International in Singapore. “Most likely it will going to stage next year. The lockdown enables me to unwind and spend quality time with my family. Hopefully I can resume my training and preparation for my international competition by early next year when everything is expected to get back to normal”.
Happy Birthday Ms. Michelle!
