MEET VANESSA, OUR GIRL FOR WCOPA MODELING COMPETITION JUNIOR DIVISION.
Text and Photos by Noli A. Berioso
Eleven year old Vanessa Lyn Tarroja Rubite is the country’s official representative to the World Championship of Performing Arts (WCOPA) 2019 Modeling Competition Junior Division. Together with four other youngsters who hurdled the national audition held recently at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Vanessa will fly to Long Beach, Los Angeles, California this coming Tuesday, July 9, 2019.
Vanessa is a six grade student at the Sacred Heart School in Moonwalk, Paranaque City. One of the five children of Rodalyn and Philip Rubite, this talented girl wants to be a doctor someday. She loves playing volleyball and idolize Joanna Maraguinot of Ateneo Women’s Volleyball team. Aside from sport, Vanessa is also into singing and dancing as part of her hobbies. Her favorite dish includes pork adobo and sinigang na hipon.
She was very ecstatic when she learned that she passed the audition out of hundreds of applicants conducted by the local organization here being handled by singer par excellence Jed Madela. She is happy and proud to be part of the Philippine delegation to the prestigious annual competition for aspiring performers and models.
A special meet and greet with selected members of the media was held last Saturday, July 6 at Azzurro Restaurant in A. Venue Hotel Makati City to formally introduced her as one of the country’s representatives to the world renowned competition.
There will be 4 segments for modeling competition – casual, formal, swimsuit and national costume. Her wardrobes will be provided by some of the countries famous fashion designers led by Cathy Mora Capistrano, Ganda Anore and Tonyo Tonyo.
We wish Vanessa all the best of luck at the finals of WCOPA on July 21 as she will compete with other delegates from more than 70 countries. Bring home the bacon!
Special thanks to Mr. Ferdinand Abejon for the invite at the send-off/meet and greet event of Vanessa.
