WELCOME HOME MAUREEN!

Text and Photos by Noli A. Berioso

Reigning Miss World Philippines Eco-International Maureen Montagne is back in the country after her successful stint at the recently concluded Miss Eco – International 2019 pageant in Cairo Egypt last March 29. She placed second over-all among the more than 70 international delegates from around the world.  Suheyn Supriani of Peru won the coveted crown and succeeded Cynthia Thomalla of the Philippines.

Maureen was feted with a grand home coming press conference last April 10 at the Sapphire Room of Crowne Plaza Manila Galeria in Ortigas. She said that she was very much prepared and confident during the finals night of the pageant, though her best performance was a little short for a back to back finish. “I have realized that what is yours will always find its way to you and what doesn’t was never yours. Nevertheless, I am happy and contended with my placement in the competition”, she adds.

Present during her home coming is no less than the President and CEO of Miss World Philippines organization Mr. Arnold Vegafria who believes that Maureen should have won the contest hands down.

The occasion also served as the introduction of the new Business Manager of the organization in the person of Mr. Arnold Mercado also known as “Mama Ruffa” in the local pageant circle. Before accepting his new post, Arnold is connected with Aces and Queens beauty camp as the group’s personality development trainor.

Vegrafria also announced that Crowne Plaza Manila Galeria will be the new partner of Miss World Philippines as Official Residence of the pageant this year. After her stint in the international pageant arena, Maureen will try her luck in local show business. She is scheduled to be part of Kapuso roster of talents.
