ROCK BAND TO WATCH OUT FOR
By Noli A. Berioso
Save The Prophet, a new rock band in the music industry is making an impressive impression based on the feedback and reactions of the crowd who saw them during their live gigs in and out of the country.
Their debut album “Diwata” was launched in a simple press conference held at the Bay Brothers Surf and Turf located at the Bay of SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City last February 1, 2018.
The band is consist of five members (Brian Salvador from the iconic Salvador clan lead vocalist and former member of the 90’s band Anointed Cherubs, Ivan Gutierrez and Sherwin Gonzales on guitars, Ryan Protacio on drums, Sam Maribbay on bass and Australian Andrew Jarick in vocals and guitars).
Coming from a diverse background of musical influence and origins, the band’s followers coined the term “grungedelic” from their unique and impressive performances.
So far aside the Philippines, the band was able to perform in other places such as Malaysia, Hong Kong and Macau and soon on other locations in and outside the country.
Their main objective is to share their brand of music and to inspire other aspiring musicians. A follow to their first album is already in process. They got inspirations mostly from the 90’s band like Nirvana, The Doors, Pink Floyd and many others. When not performing as a band, the members have their own personal jobs ranging from IT Consultant to Real Estate and Brokerage businesses.
Aside from the carrier single “Diwata”, the album also has 9 other worthy tracks that rock music lovers will surely enjoy.
Right now the band is busy promoting their album and rehearsing for a back to back performance with the band The Teeth to be held at the Bay Brothers Surf and Turf very soon.
