AHTISA MANALO’S MISS INTERNATIONAL TRIUMPH CELEBRATED
Fresh from her first runner-up finish at the 2018 Miss International competition in Tokyo, Japan, Ms. Ahtisa Manalo was welcomed home by her love ones, members of the media and adoring fans at the 6th Pool Bar of Novotel Manila Araneta Center in November 26, Monday.
The youngest among this year’s batch of Bb. Pilipinas , the 21 year-old Manalo came close to winning the Philippines’ 7th Miss International crown last November 9. Named first runner-up, she wowed the judges and the crowd with her fierce performance, doll-like features and heart-felt answer during the speech portion.
“I feel honored to have been able to represent the Philippines in an international stage, and rewarded because I have worked hard for it for several months, and it came with an amazing experience and result”, Manalo said.
Venezuela’s Mariem Velazco won the title.
After the pageant night, Manalo, Velazco, second runner-up Raebetswe Sechoaro of South Africa, third runner-up Bianca Tirsin of Romania and fourth runner-up Annabelle Castro of Colombia were given a tour of Japan to experience the country’s culture and heritage.
From wanting to become a cop when she was younger to being Candelaria, Quezon festival queen, Manalo has blossomed into an international queen worthy of queen.
Her fellow Bb. Pilipinas 2018 sisters think that her scintillating run in the pageant will provide an auspicious springboard for Filipina beauty queens yet to compete in international pageants, including Miss Philippines Universe Catriona Gray who will be flying to Bangkok, Thailand this week dor the miss Universe 2018 pageant and Jehza Huelar who is currently in Poland for the Miss Supranational pageant.
